Unleash the Power of the Link:
Bitly may no longer be Twitter’s favored URL shortening service, but they currently shorten around 6 million links each month, so it’s pretty fair to say Bitly users are a loyal bunch. In fact, if anything the company is going from strength to strength, but that’s not all that surprising because Bitly provides users with a lot more than just a way to make long, ugly links into short and tidy ones.
Bitly Business Benefits
Although there are still plenty of people who still see Bitly as nothing more than a Twitter-friendly tool, many more are tapping into all the additional benefits the system provides and are using the service to grow their businesses.
Business users can use the service to analyze and understand their audiences, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Bitly are currently working on a new system called Activate that will allow marketers to target their “best audience” and engage with them.
When Activate becomes available users will be able to leverage:
- Audience segmentation.
- Goal management.
- Branding and retargeting.
- Predictive modeling.
- Audience syndication.
- Cross-channel engagement.
It’s unclear how long it will be before Activate will become available, but the Bitly website provides a form that allows interested parties to show sign up to be notified when Bitly are ready to “activate” the new features.
