Introducing LinkedIn Lookup: Easily Find, Learn About, and Contact Your Coworkers:
The internet and associated modern technology has made it easy for people to collaborate on projects even though they may live in different cities or countries and may never meet. However, it can be hard to keep track of who is working on what and their level of skill and experience. In an article published on the LinkedIn blog, on Wednesday, LinkedIn Pulse co-founder, Ankit Gupta, announced the introduction of a new app designed to ease the process of collaboration.
Improving Communication and Productivity with LinkedIn Lookup
Gupta is very enthusiastic about the new app, stating it will make it easier for users to learn more about their coworkers, locate them, and then contact them if the need arises.
According to Gupta 38% of professionals state their companies’ intranets do not provide the information they require. Apparently 58% of them said their work would improve if they could locate workers who had the specific skills they need and 46% said they are already using LinkedIn to fill in the blanks.
One of the strong points of the new LinkedIn Lookup app is the customizable search feature. If someone cannot remember the name of a team-member they wish to contact they can locate them by searching LinkedIn for people by their title, education, current and past experience, or level of skills.
The app is also designed to make it easy to contact coworkers, even if they have not got the app installed on their own device, and messages sent to LinkedIn inboxes via Lookup don’t count against the amount of InMails LinkedIn members are allowed each month.
If you think Lookup could be just the thing to beef-up your production levels you may find Gupta’s post interesting reading.
