Pinterest Announces Buyable Pins
Pinterest announced this week that users will soon be able to purchase products directly from Pins.
Pinners can even choose colors and other variants right from the pin. And purchases can be made on the spot using Apple Pay or credit card. Very cool stuff happening over at Pinterest, IMO!
The new “buy it” feature includes products from many major brands as well as from Shopify merchants. The inclusion of Shopify merchants is a huge plus for small businesses. DeltinaU’s new Shopify store is already on the waiting list!
Google Releases New Photo App
Google has finally released the much awaited Google Photos service.
Google Photos is likened to Apple’s Photo service, but many say it is superior. Here is a comparison from The Wallstreet Journal.
In addition to being a nice place to store and back up all your photos and videos, Google Photos lets you share images across many social networks, photo services, and email. There are many more features worth checking out!
The main reason I chose to feature the release of this service, however, is because of the rumors of late about Google Plus going away and being replaced by Google Photos and (eventually) Google Streams. I am not convinced that will be the case; I lean more toward others’ opinions that things may change but not die.
Regardless, these changes are certainly worth keeping a close eye on!
